Like the Movie? Read the Book!

If you have been to a movie theater lately, there is a good chance you saw something that was based on a book. Several of the movies in theaters now and coming soon are based on books that we have right here at the Solon Library. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books by Jeff Kinney have always been popular, but now that the movie is out, they are flying off the shelves! We have all four Wimpy Kid books in the juvenile fiction section of the library, so come in and check one out (or place a hold on one) today! Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is in theaters right now, and if you've already seen it or if you are planning to go see it, why not check out the original classic from our juvenile fiction section for a refresher on the story. This weekend the movie How To Train Your Dragon opens in theaters. It is based on the first book about Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III by Cressida Cowell. We have six books about the adventures of Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless, so you can check them out and brush up on your Viking and dragon knowledge before seeing the movie. One of the most popular books at the library is The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. On March 31, the movie based on the book is released in theaters. We have several copies of the book, so you can read it ahead of time and know what to expect when you go see the movie.
