eBooks on NEIBORS

Have you moved into the world of portable electronic reading? If so, you may be interested to learn that NEIBORS now has eBooks for download as well as audio books. The Solon Public Library is a member of the NEIBORS (North Eastern Iowa Bridge to Online Resource Sharing) consortium which provides our downloadable books service through a partnership with OverDrive, Inc. (www.overdrive.com), a global leader in digital media services. NEIBORS eBooks can be read on a PC or Mac® using free reader software called Adobe® Digital Editions. They can also be transferred to popular e-reading devices like the Sony® Reader and the Barnes & Noble nook™. Please note that these books CANNOT be read on a Kindle. The Kindle is a proprietary product of Amazon.com and only books purchased or downloaded from Amazon can be read on the Kindle. NEIBORS currently has over 150 eBooks available for check out and they will be adding new books each month. A few of the titles included in this opening collection are: The 8th Confession by James Patterson, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver, True Blue by David Baldacci, Frommer's 500 places to Take Your Kids Before They Grow Up by Holly Hughes, And Then the Roof Caved In: How Wall Street Greed and Stupidity Brought Capitalism to Its Knees by David Faber, Half the Sky by Nicholas D.
