Title: The Cay Author: Theodore Taylor Summary: When the freighter on which they are traveling is torpedoed by a German submarine during World War II, an adolescent white boy, blinded by a blow on the head, and an old black man are stranded on a tiny Caribbean island where the boy acquires a new kind of vision, courage, and love from his older companion. Brittany Says: I liked how they worded it and described themselves. I felt like I knew what they looked like. I loved how they got on the island and how Peter had to live by himself even though he was blind. And how he lived and got rescued when he was blind. When Timothy saved his life it was sad how they worded it.
