You've Read the Book, Now See the Movie

Some of the most popular books in the library right now are The Millenium Trilogy by Steig Larsson. If that doesn't ring a bell, you might know them by their titles: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Did you know that these three books have all been made into movies? There is currently a US production of the first book in the works, but all of them have already been adapted in Larsson's native country, Sweden. We have the first two movies at the library and we should have the last one on shelves soon. So if you enjoyed the books, come check out the movies and see Lisbeth Salander brought to life.

Tax Forms Are Available at the Library

It's that time of year again... Tax forms are available to pick up at the library during regular hours. They are located on the black display cabinet near the entrance. Not every type of form is being distributed to libraries this year, so if there is something missing that you need, please see a librarian. The Harry Potter Display is Finished!

Our wonderful volunteer Toni has outdone herself yet again. The Harry Potter display is complete and more amazing than we could have ever hoped for. Through February 21, come to the library to marvel at the display and also enter our trivia contest to win exciting Harry Potter themed prizes. Here is a small glimpse of some of the magic you will see:

Happy Poetry Break Day!

Today is National Poetry Break Day! So that means at some point in the day, you should stop what you are doing and take a break to read a poem. It can be any type of poem that you want. Maybe you feel like reading something silly, so you pick up Shel Silverstein. Or you could go the serious route and read Emily Dickinson or Robert Frost. Either way, make sure you are prepared by having some poetry on hand throughout the day today. Happy (poetry) reading!

After taking a break over the holidays, Pajama Time is back Wednesday night at 7:00 pm with Miss Kelly. Put your pajamas on, grab your favorite bear, and come to the children's section of the library to relax and share stories and rhymes. This weekly program is designed for children under 7 and their families. This program will last approximately 30 minutes. It's a great way to get ready for bed (toothbrush optional)!

Happy Birthday Jacob Grimm!

Today is the perfect day to revisit one of your favorite fairy tales. Jacob Grimm, one of the Brothers Grimm, was born on this day in 1785. Why not use his birthday as an excuse to go back and re-read your favorite version of Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, or Rapunzel. We have many different versions of Grimm's fairy tales at the library, so come on over and check them out.
