Meet Santa at the Library!

The library's annual Holiday Party will be Tuesday, December 7th from 6:30-7:30 pm. Come and decorate a stocking, do a scratch art snowflake, and of course, meet SANTA! The party is open to all ages and no registration is required.

Habitat for Humanity Christmas Tree Auction is Underway

Each year the Solon Library plays host to the Habitat for Humanity Christmas Tree Auction. We have 23 trees at the library this year, which is the most we've ever had! Each tree was decorated by an individual or group and focuses on a specific theme. People are invited to look at all of the trees and vote on their favorite. Come back and vote as often as you'd like to help your favorite tree win the contest. The trees are sold through a silent auction that ends on Saturday, December 11 at noon. No phone bids will be accepted, so make sure to come into the library to get the tree you want. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Last Day to Order Poinsettias and Jar Mixes is Tomorrow!

Order forms for poinsettias and jar mixes are still available at the library, or on our website, but time is running out. The last chance to turn in orders is Saturday, November 20, at 5:00 pm when the library closes. This year's selection of jar mixes includes soups, sweets, cocoa, and rice mixtures. There is also still time to pre-order the jelly and jams. There is a new option for the poinsettias this year. Now we have a choice between a regular sized plant or a smaller "pixie" size. Each size is available in a variety of colors. There will be a very limited number of these items available at the Holiday Sale on December 3 and 4, but order now to make sure to get what you want!

Pictures Galore!!

November is only half over and it has already been a very busy month here at the library! On November 9, we had our annual Gingerbread House Decorating Program and it was a huge success. Our wonderful library page Erika took lots of pictures during the program, and you can see all of them here on our Flickr page. We also had an early out program on November 12, where the first and second graders made puzzle piece picture frames. You can find pictures from that program on our Flickr page.
