Tuesday Storytime With Jen

Hissssssss. Slither in to the library on Tuesday, March 2, for a storytime all about snakes. We will be reading Hide and Snake by Keith Baker and making our own swirly, twirly snakes! Preschool storytime meets at 10:30 a.m. and is geared for ages 2-5, but siblings are always welcome. Each session consists of 20-25 minutes of stories, songs, and action rhymes followed by a craft. No registration is required.

Get ready to make some noise! On Tuesday, February 23, we are going to have a NOISY storytime at the library. We will be reading a book involving a very noisy pig, and making pigs to take home as well. Preschool storytime meets at 10:30 a.m. and is geared for ages 2-5, but siblings are always welcome. Each session consists of 20-25 minutes of stories, songs, and action rhymes followed by a craft. No registration is required.

Pajama Time with Kelly Wednesday, February 24!

Put your pajamas on, grab your favorite bear, and come to the children's section of the library to relax and share stories and rhymes. This weekly program is designed for children under 7 and their families. The program will last approximately 30 minutes. It is a great way to get ready for bed (toothbrush optional)!

The Big Read!

Join us at the library as we participate in "The Big Read" with Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Come to the library and pick up a free copy of the book. Read it and keep it, or bring it back to the library and we will donate it to the Solon High School. After you've read the book, join us at the library to watch the movie on Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. Here is a link to the Iowa City Library's website that has more information about related events in the area.

Celebrate Mardi Gras at the Library

We are fortunate to have another fabulous display window at the library created by the great Toni Russo! This month's display is "Mardi Gras!" Come on in at check it out all this month. Then on Tuesday, February 16, we will be having a Mardi Gras celebration in honor of the display. Come in and listen to some Jazz, have a piece of king cake, and pick up some beads to wear. If you mention that you heard about the party on the blog, you can get an extra set of beads!

Early Out Library Special!

Early Out Library Special Friday, February 12 Just for 3rd and 4th graders We will be making marbleized paper art Parents must fill out a permission slip, which is available at the library. Sign up is limited to 20, so stop in soon! The program will last from 11:30 until 12:45 Children will need to bring a sack lunch to eat at the library.
